Three House Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Santa Maria, Funchal

Three House Hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and terrace in Funchal. Everything! We loved every single details of the apartment, the facilities and service, everything was above the best! Location: It's just in the heart of Funchal old town, supermarkets, local market 3 minutos walking, many good restaurants around and the beach in front almost. Apartment/room: We had one apartment bedroom, with almost everything to cook, even a blender to make healthy juice. Tv with many international channels. Bathroom with rain shower, spacious bedroom and really comfortable bed. Cleanliness: Was spotless! They clean every day. Staff: I think this was one of the best things about this place, their staff very friendly, kind and helpful all the time. Sidónio was our host, and from the beginning to the end, he was looking for everything, he recommended some good hiking trails, booked a good restaurant for us and delivered for free some nice pastry every morning. I don't have words to thank him enough. At the hotel is a restaurant with a nice menu and beautiful view over the sea. We liked the dinner menu more than the breakfast one. And the bar and swimming pool at the rooftop it's ideal to relax after a long day. We loved so much this place and recommend to everyone who wants to have a relaxing and luxurious affordable place to stay in Madeira.

Savoy Palace - The Leading Hotels of the World - Savoy Signature 5 stars

Hotel in Se, Funchal

Located in Funchal, 1.7 km from Almirante Reis Beach, Savoy Palace - The Leading Hotels of the World - Savoy Signature provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, private parking, a fitness... The hotel is massive with multiple restaurants, bars and lounging areas. The pools were lovely! The hotel room is really spacious and we loved the bathrooms. The shower is really spacious and the marble splurged everywhere in the hotel screams luxury and opulence. The Galaxia fine dining restaurant was lovely. We chose to go a la carte and had the artisan bread, wagu beef skewer and red snapper (catch of the day). The food was delicious and worth the price if you like fine dining. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Great variety, very friendly staff and delicious food! The downstairs bar staff were amazing and we liked the love music nights. The staff are friendly, kind and really made the hotel feel more "warm" with their personalities!

FAQs about hotels in Madeira Islands

The Island of Eternal Spring

With lush landscapes, brightly coloured flowers and a mild, year-round climate, it’s easy to see why Madeira is called the ‘Island of Eternal Spring’. Its interior is mountainous, so most resorts are coastal, many at the foot of steep cliffs.

One such resort is Paul do Mar, a fishing village known for whale watching and surfing, as is Jardim do Mar, on a plateau just east. Nearby Calheta has 2 white sand beaches protected by breakwaters.

The main resort is the capital Funchal. Cascading down slopes, it has the lion’s share of 5-star hotels in Madeira on Booking.com. A cable car ascending into the hills offers fantastic views towards the harbour where cruise liners and ferries from neighbouring Porto Santo island are berthed.

East, Caniço’s sandy beach is nestled between rocky cliffs, while Santa Cruz is the nearest resort to Madeira Airport. Machico is the 2nd biggest city and has the best nightlife outside Funchal, but the best Madeira hotels for families are in quieter resorts such as Porto da Cruz in the north.

Santana is home to the triangular-shaped, thatched houses typical of the island, and twisting mountain roads lead to São Vicente, an attractive hill town with red-roofed houses. By the north-western tip is the village of Porto Moniz whose offshore rocks shelter natural rock pools.
