A very nice city with very friendly locals. I enjoyed every bit of the city. It was easy to plan an easy city hike in a day to see all the good spots. I would however recommend visiting outside of the peak season of tourists just to have a more relaxed experience of the city without the crowd and the spike in prices. and also, they mean it when they say it's a city where you experience all 4 seasons in a day XD

Very relaxed, chilly vibe.
Very relaxed, chilly vibe. Weather changes quickly with fresh blowing air and quite good prices in restaurants. The one and only minus is for transport which is cheap but not very frequent and reliable, ideally rent some kind of vehicle.

Not bad for its price. Horrible bed.
Not bad for its price. Horrible bed.
2nd night had such back and neck problems. Went to the hospital over dish. Did complain to front desk and they gave me a ice back.
Exrays said that my back muscles were cramped.
Hotel needs proper bed and pillows for their guest.
Also had my brother and sister in law and a friend staying at the hotel. They same complaint on beds and pillows.

Lovely town, very charming and well equipped.
Lovely town, very charming and well equipped. Especially if you want to take tours. The buses around the island are better and more dependable than the internet would have you believe. I had no problems

Ponta Delgada had surprisingly great restaurants and bars.
Ponta Delgada had surprisingly great restaurants and bars. Huge recommendations to the pizza place Nonna's and the gourmet-like restaurant (without gourmet prizes) Casa Nostra that we visited three times each during our eight day stay. Also a huge shoutout to Ta Gente, which is an outstanding gin bar.
All in all, it was great to walk around town for a few days before going on hikes around the island.
We really liked everything, we were in the Azores for the first time and were worried that the accommodation might not meet expectations, but in reality everything was even better! Many thanks to the owner of the hotel, he is very friendly and will answer any question. Separately, it should be noted what a well-groomed area around the house, perfectly trimmed lawn, beautiful palm trees. We had the same breakfast every day, but it was enough to eat in the morning and take a snack for a walk. We are very satisfied with the comfort and price.
We had a great stay in Azor Hotel (now Octant Hotel). It started with a very friendly and helpful receptionist, João. The room is good size, clean and very modern, and the towels are very high quality (usually a good indicator for the quality of the hotel), bed is comfortable. The room view (with window to the floor) is amazing. The breakfasts are superb. The hotel has a great spa facility. The taxi ride from airport is less than15 minute.
Most importantly, one can feel the hotel and the staff trying their best to be a top quality hotel.
Casa da Galeria truly is the best. Everyone there was so kind and helpful, recommending amazing restaurants and sights to see, helping us get a car rental . The rooms are so beautiful , especially with the original artwork and the breakfasts were delicious and kept us fuelled for the whole day! The sauna upstairs was so relaxing and we loved seeing Host the cat. Casa made our first visit to the Azores so memorable, we will definitely recommend to all our friends and will come back!
Vania and Sergio are a super friendly couple, welcoming to their guests and passionate about their island. They gave us excellent advice on how to best enjoy Sao Miguel. Their hotel is very charming and well equipped, also ideally located. The breakfast is delicious and they really make you feel at home, proposing you some local liquor and helping you with anything you need. I usually do not leave any reviews but this time I felt like it would be unfair not to leave one.
The room was spacious, with a spacious bathroom and a terrace. Sadly because of how the weather is in St.Miguel one could not sunbathe, but I am sure if I had stayed longer I ciuld have utilised the terace much more.
Breakfast was a communal affaire, therefore we had a chance to chat to other visitors if we so wished.
The location is amazing, easy to get to via the bus from the airport, walking distance to the beach and town center.
The staff were the very best. Just the most friendly, accommodating people you could ask for. The room was clean and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom spacious and immaculate. The kitchen was handy for taking breakfast upstairs to eat in our room. The location of the hotel was central in Ponta Delgada and easily walkable to taxi stands and bus stops to explore things out of town.
We really liked it and would definetly stay here again. The garden is beautiful and in warm weather you can use the pool, jacuzzi or barbecue. Paula and João are very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, close to Ponta Delgada and the airport and relatively close to all the places on the island. At the same time it is pretty calm.
Antonio and Lino have created the most welcoming guesthouse. After staying home the past 2+ years, it felt so good to return to Marina Lounge, like visiting family. Airy and comfortable, with spotless shared facilities and interesting guests from all over. And of course the best breakfast in the Azores.
Wonderful stay in central Ponta Delgada. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean with a separate closet area for luggage and clothing. It felt like home for a couple of days. Bed was comfortable. Easy check in with codes provided. Cheap parking nearby. Towels provided for beach visits.
The appartments are spatious, with good interior. There was cleaning service every week. The host is very attentive. When we had some problems, he helped us immediately. Was very nice to see clocks with the time of Portugal, Azores and our country. Everything worked good, internet is good.
The room was warm enough – that's a thing you can't stress enough, if you're traveling in Azores in March. The hotel was very clean and the kitchen was decently equipped. Our double bed was very comfortable, extra points for that! Overall we had a very good experience with very low price.
It was the best stay we could have possibly chosen. Very friendly, great breakfast, great Tour to understand Ananas growing on the Azores. Next time well stay longer. Nice garden to relax. Close to a very nice beach in Sao Roque, they gave us biker.
Beautiful retro decor, super clean and modern room. most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. Breakfast had a great selection. Pool was great as were the gardens. I could go on and on. This will be my go to hotel from now on for pOnta Delgada.
It’s a ten!!! This is the place to stay if you’re coming to São Miguel! With a view to die for, the most amazing hosts that will make you feel so welcome... I can say I found my home in Azores! Thank you so much for all your kindness!
This was one of our favorite stays on our 2 week trip to Portugal and the Azores. So many thoughtful touches like the bolo levendo on the table and cold water in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again :)
