Ponte de Lima is a perfect place for a pilgrim on the Camino to take a rest day. Perfect place to get your laundry done properly, catch up with your sleep. Lots of nice restaurants to eat in. Many interesting alleys to walk through and enough sights to take in a day.

Ponte de Lima is a remarkably well-preserved, historically important village in Northern Portugal. It has been a crossroads for centuries. Probably for a Druids-like culture, definitely for the Romans, for hundreds of thousands of pilgrims walking the historic Camino (Caminho in Portuguese), as well as for people traveling east-to-west from the mountains to the Atlantic. Today, Ponte de Lima continues to be an important crossroads as well as gathering space for walking & hiking, cyclists, various forms of boating (with a champion training center along the Rio Lima), horse riding, international gardening and more. It's hard to fully explain how much cultural importance there is in Ponte de Lima for the Minho (region), Portugal (as a country), and, indeed, all of Europe in such a small village. Well worth visiting. I spent three weeks there, fell in love with the village, and like it so much that I intend to move there.

The village is beautiful as well as the bridge, which we walked from end to end. There were several good restaurants to choose from. Everything is within walking distance. There are great sculptures spread throughout town. We would come again.

My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years. It has changed and become much busier over the years. However, it has managed to retain its friendly low key ambience. It is still possible to recognise the town of years ago despite the changes. A truly lovely place.

Picturesque, regional town, with old architecture and great walks within the town and its hinterland. The town opens onto a broad riverfront with great views including of a historic multi-arched bridge which gives the town its name.

Ponte de Lima is a historic town, with a medieval and a Roman bridge across the Lima. Fascinating. We stayed there overnight as part of a Minho cycling trip (self-arranged). Had a lovely supper at the Restaurante Encanada.

For one who visits simply for the pleasure of it, Ponte de Lima is Portugal in a dream. Mercearia da Vila is in the centre of the old town, on the main pedestrian street, looking down past the church to the river, just a short stroll away. It is a B&B of the highest standard, pristine, with great attention to detail, a very warm welcome from the hosts, and a superb relaxed breakfast on the ground floor where the grocery store used to be. These are facts. But beyond that, our brief stay was indeed like a dream. Rather magical, perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at Guest House. Diana was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and we had a very quiet room (3rd floor, at the back of the hotel). Everything was extremely clean and nice. Rooms and fixtures are modern. Nice common area on each floor. The location was excellent - right in Ponte de Lima and few steps down to the river and Ecovia and many restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here. We would not hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Ponte de Lima.

It was impeccably clean and well appointed with very comfortable beds and showers, high end appliances and kitchenware, bath products including slippers… like a high end hotel. There are a few bars on the street but the windows kept it soundproof. We really enjoyed the mini deck in the back as well. The gentleman who received us was lovely and they even left us a bottle of vinho verde and a typical local pastry. Ponte de Lima itself was a real discovery - a gorgeous town full of history

the moment we arrived to the hotel we were immediately welcomed by a warm and comforting staff that made sure that made us feel part of the family. Francisco (The owner) himself gave us a private tour sharing his family legacy and fascinating history of great wineries. The hotel had a very authentic, warm and yet top notch design. The whole property was sitting on a beautiful urban garden surrounded with vineyards equipped with a warmed swimming pool, bar, and a top dining room.

Everything! The staff are amazing-very attentive to ensuring a comfortable, serene, and enjoyable stay. We were lucky enough to spend 5 nights at Hotel Paco de Vitorino. The grounds are beautiful and include a large pool. The bed was 10 out of 10 for comfort. . It felt like we were on a retreat, yet close enough to drive to Ponte de Lima, Ponte de Barca, Guimaraes, Braga & explore the Minho region. It was an unforgettable experience!!! Thank you!! The property was exceptionally clean and very spacious. Walking distance to the bridge and centre of Ponte de Lima. Absolutely beautiful garden, perfect relaxing in the sunshine. Best of all, the hosts were accommodating, genuinely, warm and friendly; they did everything they could to ensure a comfortable stay. Fernando especially, thank you for your kind hospitality. We will definitely stay again when canoeing next brings us to Ponte de Lima.

The property is gorgeous and we loved the swimming pool! The breakfast was very good. The decor may not be for everyone's liking though. It is very "old Portuguese" with lots of dark furniture and some religious relics... We had rooms in the annex which were very spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were also big. The garden is beautiful and there's plenty of places to laze around. Ponte de Lima is very close, about 5-10 minutes by car.

For a one week stay, the hotel offers all the facilities working and the atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing time. Spacious room and elegant bathroom. The breakfast includes a nice variety of healthy products. The staff always got a smile, and turned out to be very caring even after we left: they could notify us about a forgotten item we left behind, and manage a way we could take it back. Very thoughtful, thank you a lot!

The property is in a location that allows you to easily visit Viana do Castelo, Valença, Monçao, and Ponte da Barca. The house is gorgeous and spacious. There are 3 en-suite bedrooms and a bedroom downstairs where you would have to go upstairs to use the bathroom. The induction cooktop is a plus. The host was responsive, kind, and helpful. I would recommend it to others.

Lovely small hotel with a welcoming owner who gave me a TERRIFIC dinner recommendation! Small but sparkling clean and perfectly comfortable room in a great location in a charming city. There is a bakery downstairs that opens early, so if you are walking the Camino you can pick up breakfast and coffee. Just a few minutes' walk and you're on the Camino.

Very tired after a long day on the Camino, I was very happy the hotel was right on the path and beautifully located on the promenade and steps from the restaurants. Breakfast was worth waiting for - maybe 7 o'clock start - large buffet selection. Room and bathroom were small but all upgraded, modern, clean, and comfy. Front desk staff were so nice.

Sparkling clean, recently remodeled, comfortable beds, modern amenities. Beautiful terrace with great view. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Ponte de Lima. yes, there are the stairs, but you only have to carry your suitcases up once. without the stairs, you wouldn’t have the view, and there is no one above you. Highly recommend.

Best sleep I had in three weeks in Portugal. So peaceful, in a perfect location a short walk down the tree-lined boulevard from the town. I was able to work and use Wifi on the extra-large balcony; I wish I'd had a week there. Nice breakfast with outdoor seating available. A very good value for this type of hotel.
